I know I'll paint white numbers on the back of these - they'll look great. No...stop...Oh, Dear!
Ref 67 - Argentina
Ref 72 - Cagliari
Ref 74 - Aston Villa
Ref 76 - Manchester City 2nd
Ref 78 - Celtic 2nd
A personal favourite.
Ref 100 - Manchester United
101 - Birmingham
Ref 119 - Everton
Shown here with reversed bases.
One of the first teams I owned was the later Everton on ref 248.
Ref 151 - Belgium
Unfortunately I only have 6 of these and only include them because I like them so much. Maybe one day I will have a whole team!
Ref 154 - Derby County
Ref 154 - England
This is a team I bought from eBay. The previous owner said they had been repainted at some point in the past as Germany & there are definite signs of this on the shoulders though most of the paint has been removed.
Early England teams did not feature trim as these do & I can't say whether this is original, so dating them is hard. Obviously the repaint has clouded the issue here, but the bases are pretty conclusive proof that these figures started life as England, trim or not! Incidently the bases here are the only dark blue ones I have.
Ref 156 - Fulham
157 - Rennes
Unfortunately this team has had additional arm stripes added - in gloss of course just to make matters worse.
Ref 159 - Peru
Ref 162 - Sweden - 1973-80
When I acquired this team they had gloss red trim on the shorts and sleeves, as well as numbers on their backs and shirt manufacturer logos (in blue biro...as you do!).
After some careful restoration they are now back as intended and are one of my favourite items.
Ref 164 - France
Ref 168 - Oxford
Ref 170 - Burnley
Ref 171 - Middlesborough
Another personal favourite.
Ref 191 - Manchester City
Ref 206 - Coventry
Quite an intricate kit this one. The painting is surprisingly good.
I remember Tosh in junior school had the full yellow away kit, in small boy size not 00 I should add.
Ref 208 - Leeds United 2nd
Ref 209 - West Ham
Ref 215 - QPR
Ref 218 - Charlton Athletic 1978-81
Ref 248 - Everton
My brother Andy bought me this team. It is one of two things I remember him buying me off the cuff, not for a Birthday or Christmas.
The other was a signed copy of Grimly Fiendish by The Damned, just in case you ask.
Ref 268 - Washington Diplomats
One of a job lot I picked up mid 90s. I'm so glad I did!
Ref 317 - England
I had this admiral kit when I was a lad. I remember it being very expensive at the time.
Ref 317 - England
Another England team. Note different trim on the socks. I do have the rest but was too lazy to set them up.
Ref 318 - Scotland
Sporting red trim on the shorts. Sadly not a rarity but a later gloss addition obliterating the correct blue trim. A shame, the previous owner was most likely an England fan.
Ref 319 - Wales
One of three Welsh teams I own.
Ref 321 - England 2nd
A very playworn team - One guy is so passionate about playing for his country he's given his right arm.
Ref 472 - Barcelona
Ref 72 Genoa given a make over to represent a later lightweight reference of the Spanish giants.
477 Werder Bremen
A ref 28 converted to a later lightweight release. Due to a 'minor' repair and subsequent paint job the geezer on the back row is sporting a nice pair of yeti boots. You can no doubt spot the bearded player in the front row. Slightly harder to pick out but just visible is gay Hitler moonlighting in goal.
579 Juventus
A HW team painted to look like a later lightweight release. Originally these were ref 8 Newcastle.
